Cuvva

Cuvva first introduced their app for hourly car insurance in the UK in 2015, changing the way people get around. Fast-forward 8 years and Cuvva now helps over 800,000 customers with both short-term and monthly car insurance. I led the Brand Design team, working closely alongside the Product and Marketing teams to build a seamless brand experience for our users.

Codifying the Cuvva identity

Multiple brand refreshes over the years had left Cuvva with an inconsistent application of their brand and a somewhat Frankenstein identity.

With the launch of a large above the line campaign imminent, I was tasked with codifying the visual identity and eliminating inconsistencies across the user experience.

Outcome

Over a 3 month period I established a cohesive brand design system in Figma to arm the design team with clear guidelines and shared component libraries to produce on-brand assets at scale. Building on these foundations, we introduced a playful illustration style (inspired by the successful TV campaign) that gave Cuvva an instantly recognisable brand across their app, website and more.
